Shawn Skelly

Assistant Coach

A proven winner at the Division III level, Shawn Skelly was named an assistant coach with the Union College women’s hockey team in September and begins his first season on the bench for the Garnet Chargers in 2024-25.

Skelly comes to Union after serving six seasons as the head women’s hockey coach of Division III Adrian College. In his six seasons, he led the Bulldogs to a 140-22-7 record, a pair of Frozen Four appearances, and four NCAA Tournament berths in five years. Under his guidance, Adrian posted an 80-5-4 record in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) with six straight NCHA regular-season titles and five NCHA Slaats Cup championships. The 2020 NCHA Coach of the Year, he coached 31 All-Conference selections, two NCHA Players of the Year and nine AHCA All-Americans in his time in Adrian.

Skelly began his collegiate coaching career in 2016-17 as an assistant coach with the Adrian women’s team, helping the program to its first appearance in the national championship game. He spent 2017-18 on the bench with the Adrian men’s team that finished the year ranked fourth in Division III and reached the NCAA Quarterfinals.

A four-year standout on the ice at Adrian, Skelly was a member of the first men’s hockey team in program history and pushed the squad to an incredible 102-12-2 record over four years, culminating in a national runner-up finish as a senior. He ended his stellar career with 102 goals and 127 assists for 229 points in 113 games, including leading the country in goals per game and points per game as a junior, and remains the all-time Division III leader in game-winning goals (20). He graduated from Adrian in 2011 with a degree in communications.

Skelly will behind the bench for the first time on September 27, when Union heads to Robert Morris University for its 2024-25 season-opener.


Tina Ciraulo

Assistant Coach

Tina Ciraulo begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Union College Women’s Ice Hockey program in 2024-25.

Prior to Union, Ciraulo spent six years with the Metro Jets in the USPHL Premier. She made history in the 2020-21 season by becoming the league’s first female head coach, and first female coach to secure a junior hockey game win on November 8, 2020, when the Jets defeated the Wooster Oilers 8-2, on the road.

In addition to her coaching roles, Ciraulo served as the Director of the Metro Jr. Jet girls' hockey programs, where she played a key role in developing the girls' program and increasing participation.

Her coaching experience also includes stints with the West Coast Selects, where she worked as a coach and scout focusing on recruiting and coaching athletes for the West Coast regional teams. Additionally, she has served as a coach with Detroit Little Caesars and Bell Tire, and is a USA Hockey Level 4 Certified Coach.

As a certified personal trainer, Ciraulo is the founder of T2 High Performance Training, in which she provides strength and conditioning coaching and advising for athletes and their families.

Her experience also includes serving as a personal trainer for 5 Star Hockey, where she developed training programs for both travel and house teams. Additionally, she worked at Strictly 2SP Training Facility, where she was responsible for creating and implementing training programs for a variety of sports, including hockey.

Ciraulo was a four year member and 2-time captain of the St. Cloud State University Women’s Hockey team. She graduated from St. Cloud in 2005 with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation and Sports Management.


Courtney Hall

Assistant Coach/Hockey Operations

Courtney Hall begins her first season as an assistant coach with the Union College Women’s Ice Hockey program in 2024-25.

Prior to Union, Hall joined Robert Morris University Women’s Hockey team in 2023-24 as a graduate student and played in 29 games for the Colonials while receiving her Master’s degree in Business Administration and a certification in Project Management.

Hall brings additional coaching experience, having worked the U18 National Women’s Development Camp, as well as with the Detroit Little Caesars, Selects Hockey, and the Husky Pups in St. Cloud. She is a certified USA Hockey CEP Level 2 Coach.

Hall was a four-year member of St. Cloud State University Women’s Hockey team from 2019-2023 as an undergraduate student. She skated in 86 games while tallying 9 goals and 20 assists for 29 career points. Hall graduated from St. Cloud State University in 2023 with a Bachelor Degree in General Business.
